About Only Shores
Only Shores answers one question for people who walk the shore: when is the next low tide worth getting up for, while it is light?
Tide tables list every high and low. They do not tell you which lows are unusually low for that shore, or which ones fall in daylight. Only Shores puts NOAA's predictions next to the sun and grades each low against the shore's own year, so tidepoolers, beachcombers, photographers and families can plan a walk in a minute.
The site runs on its own: predictions are fetched from NOAA's public data service and kept for a few weeks, sun times are computed, and nothing depends on anyone typing in tide times by hand.
What it is not
- Not a navigation tool and not a weather forecast. Predictions can differ from the real water by a foot or more and by an hour or more.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by NOAA, the National Weather Service or the National Park Service, whose public information it uses and credits.
- Not a social site: there are no profiles, posts or photos, and nobody can see your lists.
Who runs it
Only Shores is built and maintained by WeldonPC.com. The site sends no email; it has no newsletter and no mailing list.
